In Memoriam: Atty. Nuel Tanglao Gatcho It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the faculty of Manila Law College, Atty. Nuel Tanglao Gatcho. On January 1, 2023, we lost a beloved member of our academic community. Atty. Nuel was not only a respected faculty member but also an esteemed alumnus of Manila Law College. With his unwavering dedication and vast knowledge, he contributed immensely to the growth and success of our institution throughout his long tenure. His passion for the law and commitment to excellence served as an inspiration to generations of students who had the privilege of learning from him. Atty. Gatcho’s contributions extended far beyond the classroom, leaving an indelible mark on our law school community. As we mourn the loss of Atty. Gatcho, we pay tribute to his remarkable legacy and the impact he had on countless lives. His memory will forever remain in our hearts as we continue to uphold the values and principles he instilled in us. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Atty. Manila Law College Congratulates 30 Graduates for Passing the 2023 Bar Examinations Manila Law College (MLC) proudly celebrates the success of its 30 law graduates who recently passed the 2023 Bar examinations. These outstanding individuals have proven their legal prowess and dedication to their craft amidst the challenges brought by the pandemic. The recent bar exams were held on September 17, 20, and 24, 2023, and the results were released by the Supreme Court, revealing a passing rate of 36.77% out of 10,387 takers. The 30 MLC bar passers will soon take part in the oath-taking and roll-signing ceremonies, which are set to happen on December 22, 2023. The grand event will be held at the prestigious SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, marking a significant milestone in the legal journey of these successful examinees. This year’s bar examinations were not only a test of legal knowledge and competence but also a measure of resilience and adaptability. Amidst the uncertainties brought by the pandemic, these aspiring lawyers remained steadfast in their pursuit of excellence and have now emerged victorious. This unfortunate incident has profoundly affected us all, and our hearts go out to the affected family, friends, and the entire PCCr community. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time. MLC and PCCR both stand firmly against hazing and any such activities that endanger the lives and well-being of our students. As we mourn this tragic loss, we call for unity, compassion, and mutual respect within our academic community. This event reinforces the commitment of MLC and PCCr to foster a nurturing and secure environment for education, free from any acts of violence.

MLC conducts its ‘Salubong’ for 2023 Bar Candidates Manila Law College recently conducted its yearly ‘Salubong’ for its 2023 Bar Candidates.  The event is organized by MLC’s current students and was held at Max’s Restaurant in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. With due consideration to the increase in inflation rates and costs to operate the School, the MLC Administration proposes a very modest increase in tuition and miscellaneous fees to support its expenses relative to the implementation of the School’s Clinical Legal Aid Program (CLEP) and the Bar Review Enhancement Program. The proposed increase, if approved, would be implemented at the beginning of each semester, effective Academic Year 2023-2024. In compliance with the requirements of LEBMO.
